Games Bring Us Together
Tuesday, April 11, 4:30-6:00pm ET
Online
Did you know that Native peoples have long, rich traditions of game play throughout their lives? Join us to learn how traditional Native games support social and emotional learning, as well as curricular goals.
Join Renée Gokey, a museum educator at the National Museum of the American Indian, to engage with thinking routines around primary sources related to the Myaamia moccasin game, and then learn how to play and make your own moccasin game from recycled materials you will bring to the session. Before the program, check out the Essential Understandings about American Indians from the museum’s Native Knowledge 360° education initiative.
