Ford’s Theater-DCPZ Educator Workshop
January 18, 2023 @ 4:30 pm - 5:45 pm EST
Join DCPZ and the Ford’s Theatre education team for an engaging workshop exploring Lincoln’s Address to the 166th Ohio Regiment, in which he reminds the soldiers (and us) of the importance of the American Dream of equal opportunity for all. This short and accessible speech is a wonderful example of Lincoln’s oratorical prowess, humility and accessibility, and skill as a leader during a time of crisis. We will dig into the speech and its manifold lessons by using a variety of close reading and meaning-making strategies that can be easily integrated into classroom practice. Build media literacy, promote critical thinking, and connect to the present day while exploring the past!
This workshop is open to educators of all grade levels and subject areas. We will meet on Zoom. The link will be sent to everyone who registers.
