DCPZ Educator Workshop: Re-Imagining Migration, on the Silk Roads and Today, with the National Museum of Asian Art

November 16, 2021 @ 4:30 pm - 5:45 pm EST

What can the study of museum objects teach us about migration and the human condition? This workshop sets out to answer that question by introducing Project Zero’s Re-imagining Migration (RiM) initiative and exploring a digital resource on the Silk Roads–one of the most ancient and widespread examples of migration across the Eastern Hemisphere–from the Smithsonian’s National Museum of Asian Art. You’ll use Project Zero Thinking Routines to examine museum objects related to migration that you can apply in your setting. This workshop is especially designed for upper elementary through high school educators, although all are welcome to attend. Special guest Project Zero Senior Researcher Veronica Boix-Mansilla will be on hand to give an overview of the Re-imagining Migration project.

This workshop will be capped at 50 participants.
Registrants will receive the Zoom link before the workshop. Please direct questions to Abby Krolik ([email protected]).
